Dennis married Patricia Heidrick on June 3, 1972. Dennis was born November 16, 1946 in Lima to Orville "John" and Lila (Rigel) Mortimer who preceded him in death. She was introduced in the comic strip in 1930 and originally used to 1934. Mortimer used to provide commentary for BBC West Midlands Radio when he first retired from the game.
